We collect and use certain personal information for the purpose of providing our services and improving them over time. This includes:
Information that we ask you to provide to sign-up for our services
Information that we collect based on your use of our services and actions you take
Any other information that you choose to share while using our services
We may also collect analytics about visits to our website to measure the number of visitors to different parts of the website, to assess user access patterns and otherwise to operate it.
We use this information to provide, test, improve, promote and personalise our services.
Basic account information: In order to create an account on P4, you need to provide us with some personal information. This includes a display name, which could be your name or nickname (we do not oblige you to provide us with your real name) and a username handle, which is a unique account identifier. If you sign-up using an email method, you have to provide your email address. Your display name and username are listed publicly on our services, including on your profile page.
Additional account information: You may choose to provide us additional information such as a short description about yourself and a profile image. It is entirely optional and is up to you what information you decide to provide. This information will also be listed publicly alongside your display name and username.
Information you choose to share: Some information you provide us when using our services is the information you choose to make public. This not only includes the information you post and its metadata, but also what and who you follow, your reposts and mentions, and other interactive information that result from the use of our services.
Third-party authentication: You can authenticate or link your P4 account to certain Third-party services (for example: Facebook, Twitter, Google and Github) and may then be required to log into that service. When you link one of these other services to your P4 account, they share some minimal personal information about you required to authenticate with us. We do not receive or store your passwords for your Third-party accounts, nor we request any access to your contacts, and what gets shown to us is determined by that Third-party’s privacy policy.
In addition:
Cookies: A cookie is a small text file that is sent to your computer when you visit a website and allows that site to recognise your browser to make a user’s experience more efficient. In common with most other websites, we use cookies and similar technologies to collect additional website usage data, to improve your user experience and quality of our Services. This means that you do not have to log in each time you visit, and we can remember your preferences and settings. You can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent, but some website features may not function properly without cookies. Some third-party services that we use, such as Google Analytics, may place their own cookies in your browser. This Privacy Policy covers use of cookies by P4 only and not the use of cookies by third parties. If you choose to use our Services without blocking or disabling cookies or opting out of other technologies, you will indicate your consent to our use of these cookies and other technologies and to our use (in accordance with this policy) of any personal information that we collect using these technologies. If you do not consent to the use of these technologies, please be sure to block or disable them using your browser settings, the opt-out links identified in this policy. To find out more about cookies, including how to see what cookies have been set and how to block and delete cookies, please visit AboutCookies.org.
Log data: P4 uses third-party vendors and hosting partners for hardware, software, networking, storage, and related technology we need to run our Services. When you use our Services, we may automatically record information (“Log Data”), such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, the referring web page, pages visited, location, your mobile carrier, device information (including device and application IDs), search terms, and cookies information. We use Log Data to provide, understand, and improve our Services.
Third-party analytics: We use Google Analytics services to evaluate usage of our website, for example how often users visit it, what pages they visit when they do so. The information generated by the cookies about your use of our website, including your IP address, is transmitted to and stored by Google. Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date of your visit, rather than your name or other identifying information. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with personally identifiable information. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to this site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy. We use this tool to help us improve our services, performance and user experiences, and may also use other analytic means to do so.

A lot of the content that you see displayed on our services is not hosted by us. When using our services, you may find links to other websites, apps and services, and other various third-party embeds. These embeds are hosted by a third-party and embedded on our services. For example, YouTube or Vimeo videos, SoundCloud audio files, Twitter tweets, GitHub code, etc. These files send data to the hosted site just as if you were visiting that site directly.
P4 does not control what data third parties collect in cases like this, or what they will do with it. We are not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from P4, nor the information or content contained therein.
Third-party embeds on P4 are not covered by this privacy policy. They are covered by the privacy policy of the third-party service. When you use a link to go from P4 to another website, our privacy policy is also no longer in effect.
We cannot guarantee the absolute security of any information. You use this service at your own risk, and you are responsible for taking reasonable measures to secure access to your account. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors may compromise the security of any user information at any time.
